The Dining Room

The dining room has two large mahogany tables and a grand fireplace flanked by an old welsh dresser. All guest breakfasts are served in this room (unless the weather allows an al fresco serving!) The room is capable of seating 22 during a hen party and the two tables are adjoined to create a larger banquet surface for either buffets or seated dinners.

Gardens

Being an old farmhouse Welton Manor Farm is endowed with two splendid gardens adjoining the house; and, for the more intrepid, there are further meadows, paddocks and fields around the working livery of the farm. Of course weather plays a factor, but assuming good conditions overhead guests are welcome to enjoy all the garden furniture at meal time or simply to enjoy the surroundings. Also the east lawn doubles as a croquet lawn – but don’t be fooled; this seemingly sedate, summer-sunshine, sport can quickly turn nasty!!

The City of Bath

There is archaeological evidence that there was human activity around the hot springs on which the City of Bath is built at least 8,000 years B.C; but probably the place was too mysterious, with steam emerging from a hot, lushly vegetated swampy area for any settlement to take place here.           According to legend, Prince Bladud, who had contracted leprosy, was cured after bathing in the hot muddy waters. In gratitude, Bladud founded the City of Bath around the springs in 863BC. As documented by Geoffrey of...

Moulin Rouge Hens Can… can… can… etc…!

WMF welcomed Rebecca’s hens from Surrey (weekend of June 4th). With two Butler’s in the Buff and their Oh La La Parisian outfits, the old rafters of the farmhouse couldn’t believe their splinters! The hens stayed three nights in all, and following a big Bath night out on the Saturday they returned on the Sunday to ‘change down a gear’ in the city’s new Spa baths.

Farmhouse Elegance

Welton Manor Farm is a homestead that dates back to the late 16th century. It retains the atmosphere of the village’s senior building with its expansive gardens, the well, ornate flagstones, oak front door, fireplaces in every room, high ceilings, undulating floor boards and service bells. However it has also kept with the times and boasts all the mod-cons expected from a 4-star B&B.
